Some of the highlights of their stay prior to the tournament was the  friendly match against Chievo Verona U-16, attendance to Inter Milan-Genoa at San Siro Stadium , lunch with U.S. international Michael Bradley (currently on the Chievo Verona squad) and sightseeing in Venice.

During their pre-tournament stay in the Garda Lake region, the team got to meet with Michael Bradley who shared his experience of team traveling as a young player and his course from the ODP program to the Residency program in Florida. A friendly match was organized on day three with the Pro Academy club Chievo Verona which resulted in a 5-0 loss after three thirds of 30 minutes each.

Day four and five were highlight by some training and cultural excursions to Venice, where the boys had nearly a day to explore the beautiful island on their own and a guided visit of the main attractions of Florence.

Day six marked Region 1’s first match of the tournament against Italian team AS Livorno. After conceding two goals in the first-half, the boys came out and got 2 goals back for a tie. Their second opponent was Inter Milan, ranked as the best team in Italy in the U-16 category. Inter sealed the chance for Region 1 to advance into the winner’s bracket with a dominating 6-1 result.

Region I ODP player Arthur Bosua (Albertson Academy) was the best scorer of the Tournament and received the Golden Boot Award.

About

Our story starts in the early 90’s, when founder and CEO, Eric Meter began working with the U.S. National Teams Program, coordinating training tours to Europe for the Men’s and Women’s teams, from the Senior level down to the U15’s. Since then, countless international tours have been organized, for groups of different sizes and sporting agendas. We now count world-renowned clubs, celebrated National federations and prestigious universities as clients and plenty of experience organizing soccer trips making us a partner of choice in managing your next international tour.
